Few days ago, I downloaded some mp3 in .APE and .CUE format. These files can be open by Monkey’s Audio or WInamp. I didn’t want to install Winamp since I already have foobar2000 installed. Till then, I noticed that there is an additional component meant for Monkey’s Audio for foobar2000. After installation, I’m able to playback the .APE audio in my foobar2000 player.

VLC – the cross-platform media player and streaming server

If you asked me which media player I used the most? I will have to say it’s VLC media player. Why? Because it’s a light yet powerful software. It allows me to watch most of the video format I got in my computer like .avi, .mp4 and many other more…

Moreover, it is a cross-platform media player. Meaning, you can even have VLC media player installed in a Mac or Linux, it’s not only for Windows.

It supports streaming too, and also support skin customization.

Personally, I don’t customize the skin for VLC. I just love the simple interface. I use VLC to watch DVD, downloaded animes and many more. I even can use it to listen to music with .ogg extension.
